About the Round Valley Ensphere (The Dome)
The Round Valley Ensphere—known locally as the Dome—stands as an iconic landmark in Eagar and Springerville, Arizona. Built through the vision of the twin communities, it was the first fully day-lighted dome of its kind, allowing natural light and solar heat to fill its massive 8 million cubic feet of interior space.
Combined with natural ground heat, the design keeps temperatures stable year-round with minimal energy use. Its engineered shell ceiling absorbs up to 90% of sound, delivering exceptional clarity for announcements and live performances.
This 400-foot diameter reticulated glue-laminated timber dome seats up to 5,500 for football and 9,000 for basketball/volleyball. The versatile 113,000+ square foot field area supports football, an eight-lane 200-meter track, jumps, pole vault, multiple basketball/volleyball/tennis courts, wrestling, and more.
Team facilities, lockers, showers (serving up to six teams at once), storage, and laundry are on the field level, while the concourse offers seating access, restrooms, offices, and concessions.
Beyond high school sports, the Dome hosts a wide range of community events—including conventions, exhibitions, fairs, concerts, and the popular Chrome In The Dome car show—making it the perfect venue for unforgettable gatherings in Arizona’s White Mountains.
