Local history & culture

Show Low’s name is closely tied to a local story the City of Show Low shares: two early settlers reportedly settled a ranch dispute with a marathon card game. One challenged the other to “show low,” and the deuce of clubs became the winning card. The Deuce of Clubs remains the name of the city’s main street.
