AZ Mudbugs members and friends — join us for our 5th Annual Crawdad Tournament and Group Boil!
We’re excited to announce our new location this year. In partnership with the White Mountain Apache Tribe Game and Fish Department, we’ll be hosting at beautiful Hawley Lake — offering expanded camping space and more shoreline access.
Friday Afternoon: Special Guest (TJ)Todd Joste aka the Wilderness Man, will be teaching some basic survival skills, such as fire making and shelter building.

Join us lakeside for our group crawdad boil! Everyone is welcome — whether you’re competing in the tournament or just coming out to enjoy good food, good company, and beautiful Hawley Lake.

Tournament Details
The tournament is free and open to all AZ Mudbugs members and their families.
Team Requirements:
Teams must include at least one AZ Mudbugs member.
Teams may consist of:
- Two adults
- OR a family team (up to two adults plus children)
Catching Rules:
- Crawdads may be caught anywhere in Arizona.
- All sizes are eligible.
- Crawdads must be caught during official tournament hours.
- Hatchlings and egg-bearing females may be counted, then immediately returned to the water where caught.
Daily Reporting
- Teams must submit daily counts and photos by 9:00 PM.
- Post photos on the AZ Mudbugs page.
- Send final count to Crawdaddy Mike Eberhardt or our Crawfish Queen Liz Walburn-Blevins
Licensing & Regulations
- All participants must have a valid Arizona fishing license.
- Participants must follow all Arizona Game & Fish regulations.
- Those trapping or fishing on the reservation must follow all WMAT rules and permit requirements.
Winner
The team with the highest total count submitted by 5:00 PM Saturday wins.
Prizes will be announced prior to the event.
