Sons of Spanish American War Veterans

Headstone Dedication for the Last Spanish-American War Veteran of Navajo County

The Buckey O’Neill Camp No. 175, Sons of Spanish American War Veterans, cordially invites those of the White Mountains to attend a special headstone dedication ceremony for John Wilson Fulton, the Last Spanish-American War Veteran of Navajo County. After 63 years, Mr. Fulton now has a headstone, placed in June of 2024, to honor his memory and service.

John Wilson Fulton was a homesteader in Young, Arizona, who later moved to the White Mountains area of Snowflake. He served with the 45th U.S. Volunteer Infantry from 1899 to 1901 and again from 1908 to 1913. His service exemplifies the dedication and spirit of those who fought for our nation’s ideals during the Spanish-American War.

Please join us in honoring his legacy at a headstone dedication ceremony.
