The campground provides a quiet setting along the East Fork Black River, making it a favorite destination for anglers, campers, photographers, and anyone seeking a relaxing mountain getaway.
The East Fork Black River is renowned for its cold, clear waters and healthy populations of wild brown trout and stocked Apache trout, Arizona's state fish. Numerous fishing access points are located within a short walk of the campground.
Horse Springs is a primitive campground with basic amenities that typically include:
Vault toilets
Picnic tables
Fire rings with grills
Trash service (seasonal)
No hookups

The surrounding forest offers excellent opportunities for hiking, birdwatching, wildlife photography, and scenic drives through the East Fork Recreation Area.
